Where you will stay
Choose how you sleep: a room in the main house, a bed in a shared dorm, a tent cabin, a tent site from May through September, or the shrine room floor.
Meals are part of every stay. The rate for each kind of room is shown when you register for a program.
Rooms in the main house
Premium rooms have a full or queen bed, with a second bed in a loft or a desk. Standard rooms, about ten feet square, have a twin or full bed. Rooms share bathrooms.
Shared dorms
Two dorms in the main house, each for one gender, have twin beds and their own shared bathrooms. Bedding and towels are provided, with large cubbies and small free lockers for your things.
The shrine room floor
When it is open, you can sleep on the shrine room floor in your own sleeping bag; sleeping things are put away during the day.
Tent cabins
Three wooden cabins in the woods, each with windows, a door, a tin roof and two cots. Bring your own bedding and towels.
Tents and tent sites
From May through September, Karmê Chöling tents stand on wooden platforms in the forest behind the main house, each with up to two cots and optional foam mattresses, or you can bring your own tent to a platform. Campers use the outhouse in the woods or the dorm bathrooms and showers in the main house.
Candles, fire, food and toiletries are not allowed in tents or tent cabins.
Solitary retreat cabins
Seven cabins in the woods are kept for solitary retreat. Write to info@karmecholing.org to ask about a cabin retreat. Meals come with every stay: what the kitchen cooks.
