Trudy Sable, Ph.D., became a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1976. She began teaching in 1978, and attended her first Kalapa Assembly in 1979/80, receiving the transmission for the Werma Sadhana at that time. Trudy began teaching Shambhala Training the following year and is now a senior director. She is currently the Director of Aboriginal and Northern Research and an Adjunct professor of Anthropology at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she resides with her husband David.
