[Image: re-link pending] Who doesn’t want a strong body and a clear mind? With a strong body we can enjoy physical movement with healthy joints, relaxed muscles, strong bones, elastic tendons, and a flexible spine. With a strong mind we can think clearer and remember better. We are also less likely to be confused and are more able to stay calm and focused under stressful situations. This retreat features: Instruction in the Wudangshan animals leopard, snake, and crane, completing the process of building strong bones, tendons, muscles, and spinal column that was started in the tiger and the dragon forms. A special qigong practice that brings Qi to the top of the head to facilitate clarity and focus in decision making. Instruction in Taoist Meditation techniques Ding Guan, Nei Guan, and Wu Jen to cultivate stillness, clarity, and insight into the workings of thoughts and emotions. Use of Immortals’ Guide to Self-Massage and Breath Regulation and Red Phoenix Calisthenics to improve memory and enhance abilities in problem solving. Moving cerebral spinal fluid to the frontal brain to maintain memories of what we know, facilitate learning new skills, and improve short-term practical memory. Discussion and advice on balancing wisdom and compassion, vision and practicality, so we can cultivate a Zeitgeist that will help us successfully navigate through work, home, spiritual practice, and public service. Prerequisites Requirement: Qigong 4 This retreat can be used to fulfill the requirement of Qigong 5. Arrival & Departure The program begins at 7:30pm. Please plan to arrive between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.
