Wendell Beavers

Wendell Beavers was named Director of Graduate Theater at Naropa University in 2003. He designed and Chairs NaropaΓÇÖs new MFA Theater Contemporary Performance program. He was a founding faculty member and early director of New York UniversityΓÇÖs Experimental Theater Wing where he taught from 1978-2002. He is a choreographer and dancer closely associated with developing The Viewpoint, a seminal technique used extensively by actors, directors and choreographers working in a wide array of aesthetics. A widely respected teacher and choreographer his work has been sponsored by many institutions and companies worldwide. He has been a member of the Shambhala Buddhist community since 1985.
