Roshi Enkyo O'Hara

Zen Teacher Roshi Enkyo O'Hara founded the Village Zendo in downtown Manhattan. A Soto Zen Priest, her teaching certification is through the Maezumi Roshi - Bernie Glassman line. She has taught meditation to many groups, including people with HIV/AIDS, young people in a drug treatment center, women in an alternative to incarceration facility. Her teaching often focuses on the healing power involved in self-expression. She holds a doctorate in Media Ecology and taught for many years at New York UniversityΓÇÖs Tisch School of the Arts, centering on social issues and new media.
