Mark Blumenfeld

Mark Blumenfeld  became a student of Shambhala in 1979 when he began studying with Chögyam Trungpa, Shambhala International’s founder. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche appointed him as a Shastri in 2012.  Mark is a former director of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Madison.  He has taught programs in meditation, mindfulness, Buddhism and Shambhala for over twenty-five years. He is retired from a successful career as an Information Technology executive / consultant after a youthful go as a peformance artist in Portland, Seattle and New York.  He is married to Dr. Lora Wiggins, has three adult children and lives in Madison, Wi.
