Lisa Stanley

Lisa Stanley has been a practicing artist and teacher of fine arts for over thirty years. Her work has been exhibited nationally at venues such as New York University (where she was a Fellow at the American Photography Institute); Side Street Projects, Los Angeles; and the Photographic Resource Center in Boston. She has been a Shambhala Buddhist practitioner since the late 1970's. Ms. Stanley was introduced to the Dharma Art teachings and ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) as an assistant to Chögyam Trungpa for his 1981 Dharma Art installation. She went on to train in ikebana in the United States and Japan and is a certified teacher with the Sogetsu school.She has taught the Shambhala Arts curriculum since 1996. She is currently living and working at Karme Choling.
