David Brown

David Brown is the Executive Secretary to the Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche. A student of Shambhala Buddhism since 1976, Mr. Brown has been the secretary to the Sakyong since 1987. Mr. Brown graduated with a Masters in Buddhist and Western Psychology from the Naropa University and served on Naropa's staff, as well as in the administration of Vajradhatu and Karme Choling. He has directed the Maitri program for the Naropa Institute and has trained in traditional Tibetan thangka painting. He is a member of the Dorje Kasung, having served as Kusung to the Vidyadhara, the Vajra Regent, and the Sakyong. He has completed Chakrasamvara and Vajrakilaya retreat practices and now is a Scorpion Seal Assembly practitioner. Mr. Brown sits on the Kalapa Council in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he directs the Office of the Kalapa Court.
