Brian McCorkle

Since 2000, Brian McCorkle, Rupön has been a member of the Dorje Kasung, a volunteer group responsible for the protection and well-being of the teachings, teachers, and the Shambhala community. Currently in the Dorje Kasung he is the Trident Regional Commander, which includes New England, New York State, Ontario, and Quebec. He is also is a senior student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and a second-generation Buddhist; his parents studied Zen Buddhism with Philip Kapleau Roshi beginning in the 1960s. He has a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and is the Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Religion and Psychology at Boston University. He is also an authorized Shambhala Training Director.
