Getting here

Rideshare

A free board where people coming to Karmê Chöling offer and ask for rides with each other.

How it works

The board runs itself. Posting, cancelling and writing to each other all happen here and by email. Your email and phone are never shown on the board, and staff cannot give anyone a poster's contact details.

  1. Post your ride. It appears on the board at once.
  2. We email you a link to take your post down at any time.
  3. When someone writes to you about your post, their message comes to you by email.
  4. Write back to them, and arrange the ride between you.
  5. Your post comes off the board once its day has passed.

Coming by bus, train or plane, or looking for other ways here? See directions and getting here.

Post a ride

Rides on the board

No rides are posted at the moment. Post one, and it appears here at once.

Changing your post

A post cannot be edited once it is on the board. To change one:

  1. Open the email "Your Karmê Chöling rideshare is live" and press "Cancel this ride".
  2. Confirm on the page that opens.
  3. Post the ride again with the right details. It goes on the board at once.

Lost the email? Send me my cancel links again, and they are emailed to the address you posted with.

Rides by staff

Karmê Chöling's staff can sometimes give a ride themselves, for a suggested gratuity paid to the driver: $75 for a trip of about an hour, $60 a person when several ride, and $150 to or from the Burlington area. Payment cannot be taken through Karmê Chöling.

Staff rides are not always available, given how small we are, and they are not a travel service. If you have no ride, book a taxi, Uber or Lyft at least 5 days before your program. A car service in the area: Upscale Transportation, 603-309-0421, upscaleuv@outlook.com. Please do not ask Guest Services to arrange a rideshare.

A note on safety

Posts are public and anyone can answer them. Karmê Chöling does not check posters or drivers, so use your own judgment: settle the details by email before you travel, tell someone you trust your plans, and never send money to someone you have not met.
