Please read the instructions below on how to arrange for your interview. In North America, we ask that students do not contact Acharyas directly for interviews.

For North American applicants wishing to attend SSA 1, individual recommendation interviews can be done in person or by phone/skype with an Acharya. Once you have submitted your application in full, you may then contact Pamela Bothwell to make arrangements for your Acharya interview at: pamelabothwell@gmail.com.

For European applicants wishing to attend this SSA 1 individual recommendation interviews can be done in person or by phone/skype with an Acharya. Please contact the Acharya directly to arrange this.

Please note: As an expression of appreciation for the Acharya's time, it is customary to give a heart gift, a monetary offering, after your interview. This is a gift of thanks, an amount that feels both generous and workable for you. The logistics of how best to make this offering can be worked out at the end of the interview between you and the Acharya.

Once Acharya recommendations are submitted here, and applications have been reviewed, applicants will receive a letter by email indicating whether or not they have been accepted.

Students who first received the Werma Sadhana at a Kalapa Assembly and have either completed Kagyü ngöndro or Primordial Rigden ngondro should have:

A clear samaya with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

Warrior Assembly (or equivalent transmissions, given before WA was introduced in1990)

Prior completion of a ngondro: either Primordial Rigden ngöndro by time or Kagyü ngöndro by number.

Rigden Abhisheka

Werma Sadhana (see details below)

Membership in your local Shambhala Meditation centre/group or a Shambhala International membership For more information on membership, contact your local Shambhala centre or visit http://www.shambhala.org/community/membership.php.
