Accessibility
Karmê Chöling's commitment to an accessible website and stay, and how to tell us what you need.
We want everyone who comes to Karmê Chöling, online or on the land, to be able to take part.
The website
The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Every page is checked with automated accessibility testing before it is published, works with a keyboard alone, respects a device's reduced-motion setting, and fits a phone. If something stands in your way, tell us and we will fix it.
Your stay
Karmê Chöling's buildings began as a Vermont farm, and the land is hilly. Here is what is in place:
- A concrete pathway and ramp to the store and the dining tent.
- A designated accessible parking space.
- An automatic door opener at the mudroom door.
- An accessible bathroom with the first-floor bedroom, private to whoever stays in that room. Ask for the room when you register.
- Staff trained in accessibility and inclusion, and an Accessibility Council that meets to listen and to act.
Tell us what you need when you register, or before, and we will tell you plainly what we can arrange.
