Madge Rossinoff began her life-long study of Shambhala Buddhism in 1975, with the renowned Buddhist meditation master, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Since his passing, she has been a student of his son and lineage holder, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Madge teaches meditation, leads Shambhala Training programs, and is currently the Director of Culture and Decorum for the Shambhala Center in St. Johnsbury. Her focus as a practitioner is to train in meditation and contemplation, by using ordinary experience as a way to wake up, cultivate appreciation, and connect with the warmth and compassion that is our inherent nature; to explore the energy of emotions and habitual tendencies, and how they affect our relationship to ourselves, community, and to nature. Madge’s priorities include growing food and working with her son, who is a seasoned climate activist and social justice organizer. She lives in the scenic village of Peacham with her husband, where they garden and enjoy the beauty of nature.
