Harvest of Peace
The St. Johnsbury Shambhala Center Council & Karmê Chöling staff are delighted to invite you and your families to come together for the traditional celebration of the change of seasons, the equinox, Shambhala Harvest of Peace, on Sunday, October 1, in the magical spaces of Karmê Chöling. Please plan to join in for any or all parts of the day as we mark the closing down of the heated rush of lush growth and relax into the comfort of community sharing and story telling. Note that this is a week later than the official date so we can accommodate complicated schedules. 8:30AM - Lhasang at the Stupa Site This early morning tradition is joyous. Please consider bringing everyone! You might like to bring practice materials or items that are important to you to pass through the blessing smoke. 9:00AM - Morning practice lead by Vicki Giella We'll be in the Main Shrine Room with Karmê Chöling staff & residents and focus mainly on the White Tara practice. 10:30AM - Oath of Office led by Suzann Duquette and Bill Brauer: Betsy Railla will take her Retirement Oath as the outgoing Executive Director at Karmê Chöling. The New Co-Executive Directors, JT Buck and Vegan Aharonian will be sworn in. 11:15AM - Harvest Brunch There will be no charge for this, the cost will be paid by the St. Johnsbury Center. Be our guests! Outdoors or in the cafeteria, depending on the weather. St. Johnsbury folks are invited to bring our best harvest potluck desserts. Please contact Grace Gershuny about this and any offers to help in the kitchen prep/clean up gracegershuny@gmail.com AFTERNOON - music, outdoor and/or indoor games. Bring instruments, games & stories to share...Fun for the entire family! This event is FREE but please register so we know how many to expect.
