<p>There are seven branches of Taoist wisdom and practical knowledge named after the 7 Stars of the Dipper Constellation:</p><ul><li>Celestial Pivot - Leadership and statecraft.</li><li>Great Gate of the Esoteric Arts: the arts of health and longevity, cultivation of mind, divination, magical arts, and medicine.</li><li>Prosperity - Financial savvy, ethical livelihood, and overcoming greed and poverty mentality.</li><li>Scholarship - The study of Taoist writings, philosophy, and cosmology.</li><li>Virtue -The practice of rites and rituals, guidance for living an ethical life, aesthetics appreciation, and cultivation of creativity.</li><li>Warrior - The discipline and physical training in the martial arts for health.</li><li>Destroyer of armies - The art of strategy, tactics, and pragmatics.</li></ul><p>What would you like to learn from Taoism? And how would you go about learning it?</p><p>Join Eva Wong for a weekend in exploring each of these branches of Taoist wisdom and practical knowledge where she will:</p><ul><li>Introduce you to a sample of Taoist writings that covers these branches of wisdom and knowledge</li><li>Discuss the practical applications of each of these branches to your everyday life.</li><li>Offer you guidance on where you can learn each of these disciplines.</li></ul><p>Please have this book with you at the program: <em>Teachings of the Tao</em>, a collection of Taoist writings translated by Eva Wong, available in book form and in e-book.</p><p> </p><h2>The Qigong of Xiantianwujimen Taoism</h2><p>Xiantianwujimen is a Daoist lineage founded by Chen Xiyi in 10th century China. “Xiantian” means primordial, “wuji” means limitless, and “men” means gate. The translated name of the lineage is Primordial Limitless Gate.</p><p>This lineage specializes in using qigong to simultaneously cultivate and transform body and mind. A hermit and household tradition, Xiantianwujimen has been transmitted uninterrupted for over a thousand years.
